Welcome to Richmond Balance – a Place for Mind-Body Connection

Life can be tough, and sometimes we find ourselves feeling separated from our ideal self, our relationships, work or education. We may feel so overwhelmed that we do not know where to start and it can feel very lonely.

Here, we work with providing a safe space for the mind and body for your journey towards healing and growth. We want you to know you are not alone, and you can be seen, heard and understood.

I specialise in a dynamic, personalised approach, often with those who have found themselves distanced from the person they once were and feel lost and hopeless. Most people have tried to solve this themselves, only to end up more entrenched in a position, circumstances or thinking pattern that they cannot climb out of. I support you in understanding and giving space for growth and transformation in the abilities, skills, and potential that you have within.

A Qualified Professional with a Personal Story:

I have a significant lived-experienced background, some of which is described in the ‘About’ section. This has led me to be passionate about my work and what I deliver. I have particular experience and training in the following areas, some of which are more unique than others:

  1. Trauma: A simple explanation is that trauma is when something tough or scary happens to you, and it leaves a big impact on how you feel and act. It could be a bad accident, losing someone important, or going through something very stressful over a long time. Trauma can make you feel upset, and scared, or even change the way you see the world or yourself.
  2. Neurodiversity: Embracing differences is what makes us unique. I specialise in understanding and supporting those with diverse experiences of how our brains engage with the world.
  3. Deaf and Deafblind: Communication is key, and I'm here to provide a space that caters to the unique needs of the Deaf and Deafblind communities. I am fluent in British Sign Language and am qualified as a Deafblind Communicator Guide.
  4. Long-Term Conditions and Disability: Living with a long-term condition or disability can be challenging. From rare diseases and the unknown, to the danger of comparisons, we can explore coping strategies and build a toolbox of strategies that work for you and your life
  5. Frontline Workers, Military Veterans, and Families: Serving our communities comes with its own set of challenges. I'm here to support frontline workers, military veterans, and their families through the unique challenges seen in these communities.
  6. Sportspeople (Up to International Level): The world of sports can be demanding. I understand the pressures, and I'm here to help athletes at every level achieve optimal mental well-being.
  7. Parenting Connections (including Kinship, Fostering and Adoption): Parenting is a journey, especially when fostering or adopting. I am keen on the concepts of therapeutic parenting, building strong connections and effective co-regulation techniques. It is important in all these, to look after yourself first!
  8. Domestic Abuse: If you're facing domestic abuse, know that you're not alone. I provide a confidential and understanding space to help you navigate this challenging situation.
  9. Families of those going through Transition: The journey for those exploring thoughts of gender transition is difficult, and it is a unique perspective for the families. I offer support and space for families who are experiencing their own journey whilst supporting their loved ones.

What You Can Expect:

In our sessions, expect a warm and judgment-free zone. We'll explore your concerns, develop coping strategies, and work towards positive change together.

Crisis

If you are in a place of feeling extremely low and thinking of self-harm or suicide, please contact your doctor, call/go to emergency care, contact the Samaritans or other listening service available to you e,g, veterans, LGBTQ+

It is very understandable that people can feel very low, thinking that there is no way out. From my work with many who have come out the other side: I urge you that it is okay to talk.
